Overview 🔎

Minivillage transforms buildings into thriving communities. By training resident coordinators to foster connection and belonging, Minivillage creates vibrant, engaging spaces where neighbours truly connect. With Minivillage, homes aren't just places to live—it’s a place to belong.

Goal 🎯

Objective

To redesign the Minivillage product interface and marketing website to effectively engage residents and building operators. The redesign needed to focus on creating a welcoming, community-centered experience that encourages meaningful interactions.

Challenge addressed

  • ✔️  The existing product design lacked a sense of warmth and community.
  • ✔️  The website was not effectively targeting building operators.
  • ✔️  The marketing materials needed a cohesive visual identity.

Design Solutions 🎨

Product Interface

The redesigned product interface mimics the feel of a welcoming apartment lobby. Key features include:
  • ✅  Lobby-Like Experience
    The dashboard offers key updates like maintenance notices, events, and job postings, fostering a sense of community and keeping residents engaged.
  • ✅  Easy Access to Managers
    A prominent “Have questions?” card ensures residents can quickly connect with building staff, promoting seamless communication.
  • ✅  Well-being at the Core
    Instead of focusing on endless scrolling, the platform prioritizes wellness. The built-in quiz helps residents reflect and share ideas for improving their well-being, making meaningful interactions central to the experience.

The website redesign shifted focus from individual residents to building operators, with a new approach that emphasizes:

The print materials I created for Minivillage are fully aligned with the brand identity, focusing on both aesthetics and accessibility:

    The interface was designed from 0-to-1 utilizing Material UI components, ensuring a rapid development process and quicker time to launch.
  • ✔️  Brand Alignment
    The updated visuals and content strategy were carefully crafted to speak directly to the target audience, ensuring that the design resonates with building operators and aligns with their professional expectations.
  • ✔️  Templatize for Scalability
    I developed a series of design templates that support internal teams by streamlining the update process. These templates empower team members to easily maintain and evolve the platform’s visuals without the need for external design assistance, ensuring consistency and efficiency in future updates.
